This position is responsible for developing a general knowledge of personal lines insurance, overview of the insurance company and understanding the role of the claims department. This position will become familiar with the claim handling processes such as investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and policy application. The Claims Representative Intern will work side by side with our claims team as they review medical, property, liability and injury related issues which may include interaction with witnesses, agents, repair shops, contractors, medical providers, and attorneys.

Undergraduate or recent graduate from an accredited college or university.

Good organization skills.

Ability and willingness to learn and extend skills.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Repeated use of PC, telephone, and office machines.

Extended periods of sitting and concentrating.

Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, and reaching in an office environment.

Occasional lifting and moving items weighing up to 30 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS
