This position is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and coordinating printed and digital materials, including web presence, publications, forms, newsletters, advertisements, brochures, signs, displays, social media, billboards, and specialty graphics.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
Monitor brand in digital and printed materials adhering to brand standards.
Develop creatives, layout, and provide support to Communications and other staff for blogs, e-newsletters, social media, audio, and website use.
Assist with the development of website graphics and site layout, as well as other items for website updates.
Provide creative support, page layout, design, and production of files for Texas Agriculture and Texas Neighbors publication. Prepare electronic files and provide to vendor for creation of online magazines.
Prepare advertisements for placement in Texas Agriculture and Texas Neighbors publications.
Prepare digital advertisements for Salebarn and assist Advertising Coordinator in managing Salebarn website.
Assist personnel in producing quality printed materials, along with digital graphics for social media.
Coordinate printing between Communications and print shop and communicate pending workflow.
Obtain bids for any printing to be performed by outside vendors on an as needed basis.
Provide backup and support to Communications staff for online presence and electronic communications with members.
Order supplies and attend to functioning of printer.
Verify quality control and delivery with outside graphic/printing vendors.
Coordinate electronic file transfers with advertisers and any outside publications in which the company places advertising.
Assist with the layout process for county newsletters, as needed.
Ensure deadlines are met for publications, forms, projects, and other design work.
Help maintain electronic photo files.
Collaborates and effectively communicates with all departments and team members, as well as outside vendors.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Two-year associate in graphics design or equivalent, preferred. At least one year experience in professional graphic design.
Basic understanding of layouts, fonts, website design and mobile design.
Understanding of UI (user interface) web design process, as well as four-color printing process as it relates to graphic design.
Work experience in four-color graphic design and designing for digital presence.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the most recent Adobe Suite software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat required. Good knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, HTML, CSS, WordPress and FTP, as well as other photography and print-editing design and desktop publishing programs.
Good interpersonal verbal skills including both face-to-face and on the phone.
Ability to plan, organize and complete detailed work independently or in a team environment.
Willing to travel as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Use of PC, telephone, copy machine, fax, and other office equipment over six (6) hours per day.
Extended periods of sitting and concentration.
Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and moving items weighing up to 30 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
