This position will work directly with Texas Farm Bureau Organization Division staff in completing a wide range of day-to-day activities.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
Assist with the development, promotion and implementation of various projects and programs related to agriculture awareness.
Assist with key administrative tasks for the Organization programs and activities.
Assist with the assembly/disassembly of the Doorways to Agriculture exhibit and Urban Outreach program events.
Assist with program development and implementation that bridges agriculture and education in order to increase agricultural literacy among students, teachers and consumers.
Comply with the Certified Fleet Operator requirements of the Company Driving and Safety Policy.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Current student of an accredited college or university majoring in an agriculture related field.
A minimum of 60 hours of college credit is required.
Strong verbal and written skills required.
Organized, flexible and detail oriented.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (verbal and non-verbal).
Willingness to learn new things and expand on current skills and abilities.
Valid Texas driver’s license and a driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation or disqualify the employee from the Certified Fleet Operator Status under the Company Driving and Safety Policy.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Use of PC, telephone, copy machine, fax, and other office equipment over six (6) hours per day.
Extended periods of sitting and concentration.
Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, lifting, reaching and moving items weighing up to 50 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Some travel may be required.
Occasional long, irregular hours.
Work to be conducted in office environment owned or leased by company.
At times, work will also be conducted in a setting outside of an office environment, to fully execute the scope of responsibilities.
