Job Responsibilities:

This position is to ensure the business, Information Systems (IS) and Quality Assurance Analysts are in sync and in agreement about requirements being implemented in projects. This includes creation and maintenance of requirements as well as enablement of constructive collaboration on requirements. This position will provide organization for requirements artifacts and interface with IS technical resources at appropriate times in the development life cycle to maintain the integrity of the requirements and system design. Additionally, analysts will ensure that business and IS teams have an adequate understanding of the requirements and technical design to reduce unexpected downstream issues. The position will also assist with the subsequent implementation of the policy process systems as well as system and workflow enhancements.

Departmental Job Responsibilities:

Participate in a company sponsored insurance related training program as directed.

Comply with the Certified Fleet Operator requirements of the Company Driving and Safety Policy.

Job Responsibilities:

Work with the business to develop detailed business requirement documents.

Respond to questions and work with the business to understand the current and potential system inputs, processes, and outputs with assistance from Business Analyst II and above.

Manage and document the design and implementation of policy processing systems and system enhancements, as well as processing and workflow procedural enhancements with assistance from Business Analyst II and above.

Capture metrics associated with the post implementation review process.

Establish and maintain proficiency in relational database management skills, including structured query language (SQL) and query management facility (QMF) with assistance from Business Analyst II and above.

Work with the QA Analyst Lead and Automation Test Lead to maintain inventory of conditions covered by the regression testing process.

Job Qualifications:

At least one of the following:

Bachelor’s degree in a computer, technical, or business administration related field from an accredited school with experience demonstrating skills required.

Associate’s degree in a computer, technical, or business administration related field from an accredited school with experience demonstrating skills required.


Demonstrated ability to support and lead multiple projects.

Ability to facilitate and organize.

Good communication and presentation skills.

Understands how to communicate difficult information effectively.

Exchanges information with appropriate people to complete work.

Strong interpersonal verbal skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.

Focuses the efforts of business and IS to work toward solutions that best benefit the needs of the member.

Good technical skills, business intelligence, and understanding of the needs of members/customers.

Strong analytical and negotiation skills, and close attention to detail. 

Learns quickly with facing new problems, open to change, analysis of both successes and failures for clues to improvement.

Exhibits understanding of all software development methodologies, including agile and waterfall.

Preferred Technical Skills (examples below):

        SharePoint

TSO/ISPF/PDF

Strong knowledge of basic computer applications, especially Microsoft Office Suite, and data processing procedures.

Understanding of development methodology.

Automated testing tools (scripting).

Automated research tools (search data for test conditions).

Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation, or disqualify the employee from the Certified Fleet Operator Status, under the Company Driving and Safety Policy.

Physical Requirements:

Repeated use of PC, telephone, copy machine, and other office equipment over six (6) hours per day.

Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and reaching in office environment.

Occasional lifting and moving items weighing up to 30lbs.

Extended periods of sitting and concentration.

Working Conditions:

Provide after hours problem resolution when required.

Occasional long, irregular hours.

Work to be conducted in office environment owned or leased by company.

Travel, as required.
