Security Operations Technician

Job Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for Security Operation functions appropriate for the Technician level. This requires the ability to perform more than one of the following functional areas:

         Job Schedule Operations
o   Scheduling and integrating jobs
o   Application controls
o   Balancing and distribution of data
o   Learn to upgrade and configure scheduling software

·     Security Access Operations
o  Providing appropriate Data and User Security Access
o  Controlling, maintaining and monitoring security access to the computer infrastructure and data repositories
o  Learn to upgrade and configure security management software

Mainframe and Associated Systems Operations
o   
Running and monitoring applications
o   Detecting application malfunctions and providing appropriate notifications

·        Code Migration Operations
o   Production path migration management
o   Test environment availability and readiness management
o   Code migration processes
o   Learn to configure migration software

·        Testing Operations
o   System test management and execution
o   Script and script catalog maintenance
o   Integration of testing with migrations
o   Learn to upgrade and configure testing software

Complete all training and assignments in a timely and effective manner.

Apply departmental standards and procedures to all assignments.

Adhere to all defined processes and procedures.

Effectively communicate with appropriate personnel.

Manage multiple projects and requests simultaneously.

Function effectively as a team member.

Update and resolve Helpdesk incidents/requests per established procedures.

Escalate problems to appropriate personnel, as needed.

 

Collaborate with other team members on assigned projects.

Provide after-hours problem resolution as required.

Report status on assigned projects.

Effectively use software tools to accomplish assigned tasks.

Effectively use the functionality of PC, Mainframe and Web applications and tools to perform job responsibilities.

Research and resolve problems with applicable software.

Research, evaluate, develop and deploy operational solutions to meet business needs.

Provide training to end users, when necessary.

Communicate with vendors and users for problem resolution, as needed.

Create and estimate project and task lists.

Other duties as assigned. 

Job Qualifications:

Associate degreeor above from an accredited school and (1) year of experience in a computerrelated field or an Associate degree or above in a computer related field froman accredited school and (2) years of work experience.

Good oral andwritten communication skills.

Goodorganizational skills.

Good problemsolving abilities.

Ability andwillingness to learn and extend skills.

Ability tointeract with customers as well as peers.

Good Telephoneskills.

Occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 30 lbs. withoutassistance.

Repeated use of PC, telephone, printers and any other officemachines.

Extended periods of sitting and concentration.

Frequent lifting, bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing,and reaching in office environment.


WORKINGCONDITIONS

Occasionally work long, irregular hours.

Provide after-hours problem resolution, when required.

Work to be conducted in office environment owned or leased bycompany.

Travel, as required.
