Software Developer II - .NET

Job Responsibilities:

This is a professional developer who executes programming tasks cleanly and efficiently while keeping team members and stakeholders informed.  You succeed not just by writing code but also by cooperating with the team and seeking guidance from more seasoned developers while offering mentorship to entry-level developers.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY:

  • Write, test, document, debug, and maintain computer programs.
  • Execute specifications as detailed by other team members and project stakeholders.
  • Design simple application components.
  • Write clean, well-documented and well-performing code.
  • Troubleshoot application program malfunctions.
  • Estimate task effort and build work breakdowns of tasks.
  • Follow established practices for project tracking and code quality.
  • Conduct demonstrations of code for team members and stakeholders.
  • Provide production support whenever needed, including log analysis.
  • Basic use of a version control system.
  • Construct build and deploy pipelines for senior team members to evaluate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • .NET framework
  • C# language
  • JavaScript programming
  • A JavaScript framework (React, Angular, etc.)
  • SQL database programming
  • Implement microservice APIs
  • Object-oriented fundamentals

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Certified in a development or project management capability.
  • Experience with the insurance industry.
Job Qualifications:

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school, preferred in a computer or technical related field.
    • Associate’s degree from an accredited school, preferred in a computer or technical related field, and a minimum 3-years programming experience.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and extend skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software required for this job.
  • Travel as required.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation or disqualify the employee from Certified Fleet Operator status, and the Company Driving and Safety Policy.
