This position maintains and optimizes network andtelecommunications hardware, software, and support systems to maximize networkavailability and performance. The person may also work closely with SystemsAdministrators and PC support personnel to analyze and resolve end userconnectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESAND AUTHORITY
Install and maintain network hardware devices,configurations, and support systems
Troubleshoot network connectivity and performanceissues.
Design Local and Wide Area Network environmentswhich maximize availability, performance, and security
Maintain operating systems, updates, and fixes forassigned systems
Update and resolve helpdesk work orders perestablished procedures
Communicate with vendors for problem resolution asneeded.
Adhere to all change management policies andprocedures.
Complete all training and assignments in a timely and effective manner.
Applydepartmental standards and procedures to all assignments.
Effectively communicate with appropriate personnel.
Report status on assigned projects.
Function effectively as a team member.
Provide after-hours problem resolution as required.
Create and estimate project task lists.
Accomplish all above job responsibilities withassistance.

Pursuing an Associate degree or above in a computer related field froman accredited school.
