Job Responsibilities:
The function of the Development Supervisor is to supervise and direct the personnel assigned to him/her in order to provide effective analysis, design, programming, testing and coordination support for all assigned projects. Departmental Job Responsibilities: Complete all training and assignments in a timely and effective manner. Apply departmental standards and procedures to all assignments. Effective communication with appropriate personnel. Manage multiple projects and requests simultaneously. Function effectively as a team member. All other duties as assigned. Major Responsibilities and Authority: Maintain the technical abilities necessary to supervise and lead development within the environment and assigned functions. Organize, plan, and lead team effort to install projects on time. Manage releases to ensure interim and production deployments are deployed accurately and on schedule. Manage technical environments to allow user testing and ensure that production builds can be tested throughout the lifecycle. Work with the business to adjust builds and releases to meet company priorities. Detailed analysis of assigned projects. Make decisions in a clear concise manner. Develop clear and accurate written plans and specifications. Complete all training and assignments in a timely and effective manner. Provide after hours problem resolution when required. Successfully complete the approved supervisor training within one year of appointment. Require status reports from assigned personnel. Function effectively as a team leader. Provide training and mentoring for less experienced personnel. Support specification development through leadership in JAD (Joint Application Development). Research and make recommendations concerning the purchase of hardware and software. Assist in the Information Systems budget process. Apply appropriate project management techniques according to Information Systems standards. Prepare and deliver presentations to management. Assign work to the appropriate personnel. Schedule available resources to ensure the timely completion of assigned work. Interview and make recommendations regarding staffing. Schedule and conduct meetings with personnel. Conduct annual performance evaluations. Administer corrective and/or disciplinary action within company guidelines. Alter personnel work hours as necessary to accomplish area objectives. Establish training objectives for all assigned personnel. Effective supervision of the area within the established objectives and financial budget. Serve as an effective member of the Information Systems management staff.
Job Qualifications:
At least one of the following: 1. Bachelor’s degree in a computer or technical related field from an accredited school with a minimum 5 years of programming experience. 2. Associate’s degree in a computer or technical related field from an accredited school with a minimum of 15 hours in programming courses and a minimum 6 years programming experience. Minimum of one year experience in Lead Application Analyst position or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to take on a leadership role through the efficient use of assigned personnel. Strong problem solving abilities. Ability and willingness to learn and extend skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software required for this job.

Occasionally work long, irregular hours. Provide after hours problem resolution when required. Repeated use of PC, telephone, and office machines. Extended periods of sitting and concentration. Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, and reaching in an office environment. Travel as required. Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation, or disqualify the employee from Certified Fleet Operator Status, under the Company Driving and Safety Policy.
