Job Responsibilities:

The Training & Development Specialist identifies designs, develops, and delivers technical and process related training and property and casualty insurance training for employees of the Texas Farm Bureau and Affiliated Companies, employees of the Texas County Farm Bureaus, and agents contracted with the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Companies.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

 

Create and present training materials and programs for employees of the Texas Farm Bureau and Affiliated Companies, employees of the Texas County Farm Bureaus, and agents contracted with the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Companies and the agency support staff.

Coordinate and facilitate Texas New Agent Training and other classes as needed, including completion of prerequisites, agenda, etc.

Fully learn systems and recommend alterations, enhancements, and new training materials and programs for employees of the Texas Farm Bureau and Affiliated Companies, employees of the Texas County Farm Bureaus, and agents contracted with the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Companies.

Develop distance learning using our e-Learning software and the associated training materials to supplement the e-Learning modules.

Maintain and replenish inventory of training materials.

Recommend objectives for the Training division to the Manager of Training.

Complete assignments made by the Manager of Training.

Post and update information and training schedules for Texas Farm Bureau and Affiliated Companies, for employees of the Texas County Farm Bureaus, and for agents contracted with the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Companies.

Create and present training material and assist in the coordination and implementation of the annual County Secretaries’ Conference.

Coordinate and administrate training and assignments with third party institutions and learning management systems, including but not limited to CyberTrain and The Institutes.

Comply with the Certified Fleet Operator requirements of the Company Driving and Safety Policy.

 

Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Four-year degree from an accredited college or university.

 

Previous adult or corporate training experience preferred. 

 

Insurance experience preferred.

Knowledge of common e-Learning software applications preferred, including creating new modules (i.e. Lectora Inspire, Adobe E-learning Suite, Camtasia).

Knowledge of and experience in Instructional Design and Adult Learning Theory.

Possess the skill and ability to operate and provide user instruction on Microsoft Office Suite products.  Experience and proficiency with web conferencing tools preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including classroom facilitation and distance learning presentation skills.

 

Excellent skills as an independent contributor and a constructive team member.

 

Strong organizational, time management, idea selling/persuasion skills.

Potential for extensive travel, including overnight travel for consecutive days.

Valid Texas drivers’ license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation or disqualify the employee form Certified Fleet Operator Status and the Company Driving and Safety Policy.
