Help Desk Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
This position provides first line technical support for employees with regard to corporate business needs keeping documentation current regarding this support, and escalating reported problems as necessary for the purpose of timely and user friendly resolution.

Major Responsibilities

Complete all training and assignments in a timely and effective manner.

Apply departmental standards and procedures to all assignments.

Effectively communicate with appropriate personnel.

Report status on assigned projects. Function effectively as a team member.

Provide after-hours problem resolution as required.

Complete all other duties as assigned.

Troubleshoot and resolve problems with corporate equipment hardware and software.

Escalate problems/work orders to appropriate personnel as needed.

Provide overview training to end users.

Communicate with vendors for problem resolution as needed.

Update and resolve helpdesk work orders per established procedures Create and estimate project task lists.

Prepare and deliver presentations as needed.

Assist less knowledgeable personnel.

Provide recommendations for improvements to procedures.

Assist with multiple projects and requests simultaneously.
Job Qualifications:
Associate degree or above in a computer related field from an accredited school and one year experience in a computer related field;

or Associate degree or above from an accredited school and two years experience in a computer related field.
Other Job Information (if applicable):
Consistently lift and move items weighing up to 40 lbs. without assistance.

Occasionally work long, irregular hours.

Provide after hours problem resolution when required.

Repeated use of PC, telephone, and office machines.

Extended periods of sitting and concentration.

Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, and reaching in office environment.

Travel as required.

Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation, or disqualify the employee from Certified Fleet Operator Status, under the Company Driving and Safety Policy.
