Job Responsibilities:

This is a part-time position responsible for presenting agricultural related curriculum in pre-registered elementary classrooms in the program area.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

 

Actively promote School Visit Program to schools to increase school visit requests.

 

Schedule and communicate with teachers/schools prior to visit.

 

Arrive, unload, and follow established check in procedures at various elementary schools. 

 

Deliver curriculum in an engaging, informative manner in varying settings.

 

Manage and care for supplies and replenish as needed.

 

Adjust content to varying grade levels, sometimes within the same day, while maintaining attention of the group.

 

Provide Ag in the Classroom lessons and resources to teachers along with information regarding other TFB programs offered.

 

Comply with the Certified Fleet Operator requirements of the Company Driving and Safety Policy.

 

Follow reimbursement and timecard deadlines and procedures.

 

Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Texas Teaching Certificate, Four-year degree from accredited college or university in Education or Communication, or extensive experience delivering agricultural-based content.

 

Agriculture background preferred.

 

Knowledge of basic computer operations.

 

Effective interpersonal and verbal skills.

 

Must have dependable personal transportation.

 

Ability to adapt to changing audiences and settings.

 

Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation, or disqualify the employee from Certified Fleet Operator Status under the Company Driving and Safety Policy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical aspects of setting up displays, teaching aids and delivering educational programs.

Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and moving.

 

Physical activities, including lifting, carrying and loading up to 30 lbs.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Travel within the program area with overnight travel, as required.
